Midnight on the Adriatic
There is a place along the Adriatic coast where the doors have remained closed for decades.
Once, the estate was known for extravagant midnight affairs. Candlelit rooms filled with music, champagne flowing beneath crystal chandeliers, and elegantly dressed strangers arriving long after the rest of the city had gone to sleep.
The music disappeared. The doors were locked.
And the estate was left untouched.
But every year, as midnight approaches, the lights begin to flicker again. The chandeliers glow. Champagne appears in glasses no one remembers pouring. Music can be heard from rooms that should be empty. And among the guests, veiled figures wander the halls as though they never left.
